Anna Karina, Alphaville
I'm sorry that most of the pictures I chose of her have some dude (her co-star Eddie Constantine) in them, but gosh, they just look so good together. The juxtaposition of her smooth and fair skin with his rough and stern face is magic.

Ivana Karbanová and Jitka Cerhová, Sedmikrásky (Daisies)
This film is about two very, very hungry girls. That's about it, really.

That's all for now, I think.
Challenge question of the day:
Why does fair skin and dark hair compliment each other so?
The look here that I most admire is the short red hair combined with an artificial flower wreath and an industrial monicle that has no glass. But cat eyes just don't work on me anymore! Or has it been so long that I've forgotten how much they, in fact, DO WORK?
ReplyDeleteThis question truly is a challenge. But I have an answer (as always). Living in America, we have an overload of images all day long. Lots of crap we don't want to see but we have to look at. Lots of colors and crap. We expect dark skin with dark hair and light skin with light hair. Any combo that is inbetween is invigorating to the eye and the eye is the window to the soul so therefore these combinations are invigorating to the soul also. Dark skin with red hair? Amazing. Light skin with dark brown hair? Amazing. I could write a book on this stuff, seriously.
Also, bathtime and updoes - it is a MUST for those with long hair.
